Jace, left mute after his adoptive family is murdered, grows up in Athens’ underbelly. Years later, he finds solace with a carnival troupe, until the underworld threatens to reclaim him.
A young, orphaned Albanian boy, mute after witnessing the murder of his foster family, ends up in the underbelly of Athens, facing a life of abuse, violence, and exploitation, including institutions for young offenders and shadowy figures in the criminal underworld. Jace’s journey is one of searching for belonging and a sense of family in a world that offers him only loss.
